Osho Tapoban is widely praised as a transformative spiritual haven, offering profound peace and rejuvenation amidst stunning natural beauty. Visitors appreciate the diverse meditation techniques, delicious vegetarian food, and the welcoming community. Some note a price difference for foreigners and a desire for less commercial promotion, but the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many experiencing deep personal growth.
"Most beautiful place if you are ready magic will happen here . Food is great , accommodation is good, space is pretty big so you can walk around in silence with nature all around. All the Sanyasi are very helpful i never had a single problem during my 14 days stay . Thanks to Swami ji for creating this Buddha field ❤️🌺. One suggestion if you want to give one or two books just give it don’t put this social media post condition because social media is poison and very few people can use it without destroying their brain . It feels like dirty marketing trick Osho Tapoban is better than that 🙏"
Passion Bonsai
"Just to enter and walk around l paid 200 rupees (100 for locals and also l don’t understand the double price policy, also the rooms cost much more for foreigners). The setting is in the jungle however l walked around and l didn’t like the vibes and the energy inside. So many people. So much concrete, and ugly buildings. I enjoyed reading Osho’s quotes.
At the end I am glad l visited because l decided that l wouldn’t participate any course here."

"A Transformative Spiritual Haven: Osho Tapoban, Kathmandu
Nestled in the lush Nagarjuna hills, just a short drive from the chaos of Kathmandu, Osho Tapoban is a sanctuary of peace, meditation, and profound spiritual energy. From the moment I arrived, I felt the weight of the outside world lift, replaced by a serene vibration that permeates every corner of this sacred space.
The Setting: A Forest of Spiritual Practice
The name Tapoban—meaning "forest of spiritual practice" in Sanskrit—perfectly captures the essence of this retreat. Surrounded by ancient trees, the ashram sits on land once graced by the Buddhist master Nagarjuna, whose enlightened presence still lingers . The air is fresh, the views breathtaking, and the energy palpable—a true Buddhafield where transformation feels effortless.
The Meditations: Dynamic, Deep, and Liberating
Osho Tapoban offers a rich variety of active and passive meditations, each designed to dissolve mental blocks and awaken inner stillness. The Kundalini Meditation—with its shaking, dancing, and silent surrender—was a revelation, releasing deep-seated tensions I didn’t even know I carried . The Dynamic Meditation, practiced at sunrise, was electrifying, blending catharsis with blissful silence. Evening White Robe Celebrations, where everyone dances in flowing white garments under the stars, felt like a divine communion .
The Community: Warmth Without Dogma
Unlike rigid spiritual centers, Tapoban radiates inclusivity. The Nepalese staff and international seekers alike exude kindness, laughter, and a shared commitment to growth. Whether in the meditation hall, the vegetarian dining area (where delicious, mindful meals are served), or the tranquil Osho Samadhi shrine, I felt welcomed without pressure to conform .
The Teachings: Wisdom for Modern Seekers
Swami Anand Arun, the disciple who founded Tapoban, embodies Osho’s philosophy of joyful awareness. His talks—woven with humor, insight, and timeless wisdom—bridged the mystical and the practical. One quote that stayed with me: "Possess things, but don’t be possessed by them"—a reminder that spirituality isn’t about renunciation but freedom in engagement .
Final Thoughts: A Life-Changing Retreat
Leaving Tapoban, I carried home more than memories—a renewed sense of clarity, joy, and connection. Whether you’re a seasoned meditator or a curious beginner, this retreat offers a rare blend of structure and spontaneity, silence and celebration. It’s no wonder luminaries like Manisha Koirala and former Nepalese prime ministers have praised its magic .
Verdict: 5/5 stars. Osho Tapoban isn’t just a retreat; it’s a living, breathing invitation to awaken. I’ll be back—soon."
