What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Natural History Museum of Nepal to be a charming and informative stop, particularly for its well-preserved collection of flora and fauna. While some note the museum's modest size and the distinct smell from preservation methods, most appreciate its reasonable entrance fee and its convenient location near Swayambhunath Stupa. It's highly recommended for those with an interest in biology and for families seeking an educational experience.
"A medium sized museum with an excellent collection of botany and biology details. Great place for people and kids interested in Biology field. Had a great experience. Tickets can be purchased at the counter. Located near the monkey temple."

"3 stars is as generous as I feel I can be. It's mostly just the one large room and mostly just taxidermy with simple labels. The naphthalene protection method comes with a strong smell. So if you're used to it no worries, but if you're not a moth ball user, it's a bit offputting."
Justin Flores (Gospel Nerd)
"On the way to/from (upward way) Swayambhunath Stupa and inside of Swayambhu Environmental Park. Small but have decent collection of animals, birds, insects, seeds, etc. Need only 30min to finish visiting. If want to take lots of photos, then should buy Still Camera ticket. Staff were nice and friendly. However, really need to expand the area and collection."
