What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Utrecht Dom Tower for its stunning panoramic views and historical significance. The climb, while challenging, is considered a rewarding experience. Many also appreciate the surrounding Dom Church and the unique canal system of Utrecht. Some find the ticket prices a bit high and note that booking in advance is crucial due to high demand.
"Great guide tour, consider 1h in total to climb up and go down, eat and or drink before the tour starts as no belongings are allowed in (can be left in a locker for free). Not made for light hearted people, first floor is ok to access but after that, very narrow turning stairs. Up to 465 stairs to climb and incredible views on last floor."

"This is a place you should visit in Utrecht provided you can take the significant climb up the stairs. The view is certainty worth it.
You have to book a tour, which does add to the experience and our guide was friendly and informative. The tour was presented in Dutch and English. The start point is in a shop nearby so make sure you read the information carefully."
Dan Woodruff
"Highlight of my trip in Utrecht. I would recommend preserving a ticket a few days before because they may not have a slot available. The ticket includes a tour that leads you up to the top of the tower (you need the ticket to enter and hike with the tour guide). Tour is available in both Dutch and English. The history behind the Dom (as well as the Church) is interesting. The hike is easy to moderate in term of stamina requirement, but the view on top is definitely worth it (if you have a telephoto camera I would definitely recommend bringing it with you, see attached photos)."
