What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the stunning views of the Kapiti Coast and the diverse, engaging trails suitable for families and mountain bikers alike. While the natural beauty and free access are major draws, some find the marked MTB trails less challenging than expected and note that maps can be confusing. Careful attention to safety around gates is also advised.
"Nice trails, nothing too technical, easy climb and super fun downhill trails. Fabulous views"

"Amazing bike climb for me. Met a local biker who showed me tech trails past beyond the main mtb track (not listed on trailforks yet). Main flow trail has many doubles and tables. Fun to ride if you know the trail well. Amazing views from the top. Mostly well signed. I got confused with the map from the info hutt. It seems it needs updating. Trail names on trailforks and the local info map are different."
Jonie Jef Calo-oy
"Great lookout with easy access and gorgeous views over Kapiti Coast and Kapiti Island. The forest loop track has lots of info boards which help to keep kids entertained while discovering the forest birds and insects.
Upd. What I really like about this reserve is that every path is so different. There are heaps of hidden gems like giant totara or kid-size bench, weta boxes in the bush and cool look-outs. Hit the track and enjoy!"
