Reviews Summary

Polynesian Spa is widely praised for its relaxing geothermal pools and stunning lake views, offering a rejuvenating experience for families and couples alike. While many highlight the therapeutic benefits and tranquil atmosphere, some visitors note that the family pool area can be small and that cleanliness could be improved during peak times. Overall, it's considered a worthwhile Rotorua attraction for its unique mineral waters and scenic setting.

"Our half day at the Polynesian Spa was just perfect! We were welcomed warmly and given a great introduction to all the amenities. Our package included the deluxe pool area and a treatment. The view over the lake from the pools is stunning. Pools with various temperatures were relaxing and offered good sitting areas. So relaxing and not at all too busy. The massage treatment was excellent. One of my best! Highly recommend a visit here!"

"The Polynesian Spa is a must-do! My partner and I loved it so much we came back multiple times during our recent few days in Rotorua. We tried the private lake view pool which was magic, as well as the Pavillion pools and Deluxe Lake Spa pools. The options to soak in incredible thermal mineral pools with acidic and alkaline waters at differing temperatures is incredibly restorative and therapeutic after a long day of walking and sightseeing. It’s also terrific the Spa is open late, so you can take advantage of the facilities well into the evening and soak under the stars. If you can manage to treat yourself to a spa treatment while you’re there it’s well worth it. Spaces and change rooms are well maintained and every care is taken with thoughtful details to make visitors comfortable and provide them with a memorable experience. Everyone we met there across our multiple visits were great but special call outs to team members Rakesh, Angalina, Mariah and Shinal who were all so friendly, helpful and thoughtful. We’ve been to various spa facilities in different parts of the world over the years but we haven’t felt so warmly welcomed to such one of a kind facilities as we did at Polynesian Spa. We’ll definitely be back on our next visit to Rotorua. ☺️"

"Booked a massage and included was soaking in the lake pools which are alkaline and one acid pool (sore muscles). You can’t beat the location of this Spa. It is literally on the lake. The pools are right next to a small garden and the lake is right there. The seagulls are on the garden area. That’s how close you are to the water. They have this location because they have been there since the late 1800s. The pools are surrounded by rocks and feel very natural. The water is varying temperatures. Very, very relaxing. They also have some outside chaises that are heated.
I booked a massage with Ni Luh who was fantastic. I told her about my sore spots and she paid attention to them. She is very sweet and very accommodating. At the end of the massage she gave me a coupon for a complementary juice or smoothie and I was taken to a relaxation area where she gave me some tea. Everything is pristine clean. The locker rooms are large and there are blow dryers, and plenty of towels.
The only comment I have is that they don’t give you cups for water and you have to drink out of water fountains. I purchased a bottle of water at the café at the front of the spa. It would’ve been nicer if they provided cups for water.
Otherwise, had my smoothie at the café and also had a grilled sandwich which I enjoyed. I wasn’t sure how this experience would be but it’s a top notch spa and they definitely go out of their way to make you feel welcome and happy.
I would definitely go back there."

For Different Travelers

Tailored advice for your travel style

👨‍👩‍👧 Families with Kids

Polynesian Spa offers a family pool area designed for younger visitors. However, be aware that reviews suggest this area is quite small and may not offer the same scenic views as the adult pools. If your children are looking for extensive water play, it might be worth managing expectations or considering if the cost aligns with what they'll enjoy.

For a more comfortable family experience, consider booking a private pool. This offers a secluded space where your family can relax together without worrying about disturbing other guests or being disturbed. It's a pricier option but can be well worth it for a special family outing. Remember to pack swimwear and towels for everyone! :child:

💰 Budget Travelers

To experience Polynesian Spa on a budget, actively search for 'Polynesian Spa deals', 'Polynesian Spa discount codes', or 'Polynesian Spa vouchers' online. Websites like BookMe or GrabOne occasionally feature offers. Visiting during weekday off-peak hours can also sometimes be more affordable or less crowded, enhancing the value.

Bringing your own swimwear and towels is a must to avoid rental fees. While the main public pools offer a great experience, if budget is a primary concern, you might opt out of the more expensive 'Deluxe Lake Spa' or private pool options. Focus on enjoying the natural mineral waters in the general access areas. :moneywithwings:

💖 Couples & Romantic Getaways

For a romantic escape, the private pools at Polynesian Spa are an absolute must-book. These secluded sanctuaries offer an intimate geothermal experience with stunning lake views, perfect for couples. Booking these well in advance is essential.

Alternatively, the adult-only pools provide a tranquil and serene atmosphere, ideal for unwinding together. Enjoy the therapeutic mineral waters as you soak in the beautiful surroundings of Lake Rotorua. Consider visiting during weekday evenings for a truly magical and peaceful ambiance.

The family pool area is a dedicated space for those with children. While it offers a place for kids to splash, some reviews suggest it's smaller and less scenic than the adult areas. It's important to manage expectations if you're traveling with young ones and looking for extensive entertainment.

Maximizing Your Visit: Tips from Travelers

To make the most of your Polynesian Spa visit, heed the advice from fellow travelers. Booking in advance, especially for private pools, is a recurring tip to avoid disappointment. Many suggest checking for 'Polynesian Spa deals' or 'Polynesian Spa discount codes' online to potentially save on 'Polynesian Spa prices'.

Consider the time of day for your visit. Weekday evenings and early mornings are often recommended for a more relaxed experience with fewer crowds. Bringing your own 'Polynesian Spa swimwear' and towels is also a practical tip to save on rental fees.

Finally, remember to hydrate well between soaks and embrace the tranquil atmosphere. Some visitors enjoy the hot-cold therapy of alternating between the hot pools and an ice-cold shower for an invigorating experience. Reddit
