The surrounding forest walks are also praised for their beauty and the opportunity to discover more natural wonders. While the main walk is short, nearby trails offer more exploration.

"Impressively large tree and it's worth seeing because you may not have a chance later. We also did the walk nearby to the other large Kauri tree and that was quite amazing too, nice little walk through the trees."

Emma Pitcher

"What a sight to see...worth the journey, however it would have been nice if there was more of a walk to do directly from Tane...we hopped in the car and saw the father of the forest which is 2 minutes drive up the road, and definitely worth doing whilst uour there, more of a bush walk, only about 45 minutes I think. Beautiful though, lots to spot, fungi, different trees, flowers, insects....kids enjoyed it (ages 10 & 13) and we enjoyed it too!"

natalia30ish
