What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Te Kōputu a te Whanga a Toi for its free admission and the valuable combination of historical exhibits, local art, and geological information. The integrated library is a significant bonus, offering free Wi-Fi and a quiet workspace. While the exhibits are well-displayed and informative, some may wish for more extensive collections.
"Only commenting on the library as I haven't been into the exhibition center. Nice compact library for Whakatane. There is free wifi and computers to browse the internet. There is a wide range of books and subjects from which to choose and a kids corner with little tables and chairs - there's also a selection of audioCD+books. There are plenty of couches & other reading areas and a couple of study rooms that you can book for a few hours. The library itself has self-service checkout/return kiosks but there are staff to help out if it gets busy. You can also 'borrow' ebooks and manage/renew your books online. All you need to join is proof of address (any letter or package label will do) and photographic ID."
