Whiritoa has always been a special place for our family. Ever since our oldest Brook was 3 months old, we have been holidaying here. This is our base for the next few months before heading away to start our overseas adventures. We love exploring Whiritoa and all of its unique natural wonders…the beach, lagoon, blow hole, walks and play spots! Can’t wait to share more about this very special place ...

It's praised as a clean, scenic spot with good facilities at the north end, though some note the lack of shade and the need to check tide times for certain attractions.

"Magical little spot.

North end beautiful Lagoon area with white sand beach.

South End - Blow Hole and creek."

The_Eternal _Traveller.

"We visited the southern end of the beach. There are no facilities at this end of the beach, like at the North end, where you'll find a play park, toilet/shower block and bbq/picnic area.
A large section of the dune areas was roped off for nesting birds and we managed to see a few varieties while on the beach.
Gorgeous sand (but extremely hot!) and rock features, and we only saw one other person. Great spots for birders!"

Sharon Hughes

"A very nice and clean beach. Went there in the morning. A lot of children were happy and playing in the playground with their parents' guides.
A clean public toilet. There is plenty of car park onside the street. Some cafe shops there too"
