more or less, Baeskades is a starkly beautiful area visited annually by more reindeer than people. And on the January 2020 day we visited, during a wondrous snowmobile outing, led by guides from the nearby Gargia Lodge, the only signs of the creatures were shed antlers poking from untouched snow banks taller than any of us. A privilege to see, as was a five-minute view on the northern horizon of the region’s first sighting of the sun for 2020."
