Reviews Summary
The Munkebu Hut Trail is lauded for its breathtaking views and the unique experience of staying at or visiting the hut. Hikers appreciate the challenging yet rewarding nature of the trail, with stunning lake and sunset vistas. Some find the rope sections challenging, and preparedness for varied weather is key.
"Amazing place to hike. It still had snow so we couldn't reach the top. But hiking around the inner lakes was wonderful experience. We went as high as we could. Would recommend to have chains for the shoes and walking sticks, would have helped us to go further. The route had some tough parts where you have to use ropes that fixed to the rocks, might not be easy to climb that part for everyone."

"The weather was sunny and clear for our hike in (3.5 miles). The hut fit our group perfectly! There were 6 twin size beds and 2 full size beds. Bring a filter for the adjacent pond. Many people drank the water directly, but we chose to filter or boil before consuming. There was a small pond we swam in. It's very shallow and cold, so more of a quick dip than a swim, but refreshing nonetheless. Bring toilet paper and hand sanitizer for the toilet. And be sure to keep it locked. There was a constant stream of hikers coming through camp and many tent campers (about 10). We also hiked up to the summit and it took about an hour."

"Great hike with awesome views. And great spots for camping with view on lake and sunset. From parking it’s some parts tough hike but so worth it when you get to the top. It’s one of longer hikes in area but so worth it. Must visit if in area. But don’t forget good hiking boots."
