What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Allcamayo Waterfall to be a worthwhile and beautiful natural escape, especially after visiting Machu Picchu. The lush 'living jungle' flora and unique decorative elements are frequently praised, though some note the waterfalls themselves are not always dramatic and the hot springs' water quality is questionable. The moderate trail with stairs is manageable for most.
"A great little hike, though a few steep and precarious spots, that we found to be very well worth the time. Just before the falls we came to a quaint abode with snacks and artinsinal items for sale. Just beyond that were stone replicas of Incan architecture and other idyllic decor and gardens. It looks to be a lobor of love by the couple who lives there. A five minute trail from there led to a distant view of the waterfalls and shortly thereafter we were in the falls! We had a lovely morning and were thankful for having an extra day to explore Aquas Calientes and find this little gem!"

"The hike up was good exercise. Not easy because there are a lot of steps but doable even for non-hikers.
The 2 waterfalls #1 and #2 weren't very dramatic (big) but we went on aug 30 in the dry season.Cost is 20/sol per person. Takes about 10 minutes from the coffee bar where you pay but takes about 40-50 minutes for beginner hiker to climb up there with lots of rest breaks. Saw a banana tree with some ripe bananas during the camp."

"Visiting this area after Machu Picchu. It’s tucked behind the hot springs and will cost 20 soles.
It’s a very easy walk not much of a hike, maybe less than a mile. A few stairs but along the way, you get beautiful views of the water streams, flowers, and butterflies. Perfect for an afternoon chill to unwind. Be sure to enjoy all the little sets ups!"
