What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Ricardo Palma House Museum to be a charming and picturesque glimpse into the life of the famed writer, offering a peaceful historical experience. While some reviewers appreciate the unique artifacts and the opportunity to browse the gift shop, others note that the museum's presentation could be more engaging, with guides sometimes lacking enthusiasm and information not always available in English.
"The lady in the museum could hardly be bothered to take us round, she kept looking at her mobile phone, went off twice to make a call. She droned on with no enthusiasm, only boredom. The house was just an old house with the man's stuff in it, we even got to look at his toilet. There was nothing in English ( it was okay for us as we speak Spanish) and nothing to give any idea of what impact Don Ricardo had on Peruvian culture. 6 soles badly spent - Lima has far better museums with enthusiastic staff and you'd be much better off spending your time and money with them."
