Reviews Summary

Visitors find Pisac's market vibrant and its Inca ruins historically significant with stunning views. However, some feel the market's repetition and the vendors' persistent sales tactics can be a bit overwhelming, though many appreciate the locals' genuine warmth and welcoming nature.

"It's nice to see local artisans and such, but it's a poor country and they don't have much apart from tourism. Therefore, they rely on selling the same alpaca wool, some come from factories, others from locals themselves and unfortunately, there are rolls and rolls of small vending tents, but they all sell the same stuff, over and over. Although the area is really pretty, well kept, historic, with splendid views, it's a bit sad. Old and young locals keep approaching you and trying to sell you their stuff, almost begging. If you have half a brain, you know they are struggling and that made me feel awful for them. It's sad to see a country that most people are totally dependent on this kind of informal income for the subsistence and we treat them like they are harassing us. Even so, I really loved the Peruvian, they're genuinely nice and welcoming! And olaytambo was one of my favorite places to go in the world so far!"

Carolina Portugal

"Great stop to grab all the food you need. They have fruits, meats, nuts, chocolate - everything."

Jeremy Miller

"Nice market, larger than expected, with very good merchandise of different things. Make sure you check prices in different places before you buy"
