"As a local tourist, I appreciate seeing such aesthetically pleasing government buildings with park spaces. Our tour operator brought us here to start our tour of Bacolod to take photos with the marker. We noticed several runners exercising early in the morning. It seems to be a good place to relax and exercise.
I hope there will be more green spaces in Bacolod in the future."

"I come from Iloilo and have been living here in Bacolod for about five months. I’d like to share some observations and concerns based on my stay:
1. Lack of ambition and long-term vision – The local government seems to lack ambition or a clear plan for the city’s future. When trisikads and tricycles still operate along national roads, it shows that many are still struggling financially. Is there even a 5- or 10-year plan to handle population growth, worsening traffic, rising prices, and stronger typhoons each year?
2. Public market – Poor sanitation, disorganized layout, and lack of proper parking spaces for customers. Honestly, it hasn’t improved much compared to Iloilo.
3. LTO enforcement and traffic management – I’ve seen vehicles without plates and jeepneys emitting thick smoke. What’s the point of annual renewal and smoke tests if these vehicles still operate? And when traffic lights malfunction, it takes hours before anyone arrives to manage the situation.
4. Lack of proper road signage and loading areas – Many roads lack clear and proper signage. Public vehicles often load and unload passengers right on the road, blocking traffic instead of helping it flow smoothly.
5. Lack of passenger convenience – There are no proper waiting sheds or structures to protect commuters from rain or sunlight. It shows a lack of concern for passenger comfort and safety.
6. DPWH office issue – The DPWH office near the river has soil erosion along its wall, which could lead to serious damage if a super typhoon hits Negros. Why hasn’t this been addressed?
7. Road conditions – Many roads, especially around the Ceres terminal, are full of potholes. It’s been months and still no repair.
8. Flooding problem – Robinsons Mandalagan experienced heavy flooding, and even after a month, no improvement or upgrade on the canals has been made. There’s even a nearby river that could be utilized, but nothing’s done.
9. Lack of customer accommodations – Many commercial areas lack organized parking and proper space for customers. Businesses can’t truly thrive if customers aren’t properly accommodated.
10. Traffic and pedestrian safety – Traffic is constantly heavy and tiring, especially for students who commute. There’s no overpass or even a pedestrian lane near the Ceres terminal—how are people supposed to cross safely?"
