Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Boljoon Church for its profound historical significance, stunning architecture, and serene atmosphere. Many appreciate its role as a National Cultural Treasure and the recent restoration of its pulpit panels. While some note ongoing renovations, the overall sentiment is one of awe and peaceful reflection.
"I have known this place otherwise known as Boljoon Church for more than 35 years as my ancestors are originally from this place. The place has survived the war and several calamities. Its has baroque with fortress like features—it was built not just for worship but also for defense against Moro raids. Its thick coral stone walls and the nearby baluarte (watchtower) were part of the defensive complex. I often dropby the church if I visit the South to offer my prayers and buy their torta which is also a winner."
