What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the stunning natural beauty of Monkey Beach, with its crystal-clear turquoise waters and playful monkeys. The scenic boat journey to the beach is also a highlight. However, some find the beach can get crowded, and caution is advised regarding the monkeys' behavior.
"My review may not be fair and some would give it 4 to 5 stars. I expected a resort on the beach which I thought it was. It was however up in the hills with a steep narrow road going there. About 2km from the Sabang center. The room was good with a comfortable bed. It was quiet and peaceful with stunning views of the ocean. The food is mainly local cuisine but not much seafood. Staff are friendly and go out of their way to please. It would make a perfect health resort."

"One of my best stay ever! The decorations are simple and the location is up on a steep hill. However, you forget about the long journey once arrived. Gorgeous ocean view with THE BEST sunset view ever. The staff was top-notch. No doubt! Their kindness & hospitality (special thanks to Meann!) were second to none. The food, seriously, was superb and I always forgot to take the photos cause the smell, the sizzling of the beef, the fragrant of the rice was too tempting.
I love this place soooo much! Please, if you plan to visit PG, you simply cannot miss this lovely gem!!!"

"Scenic sunrise and sunset, ocean access to private beach with coral reef and fish. Quiet place but only 5 minutes from sabang and within 30 minutes of many other attractions in Puerto Galera area. Great and friendly staff. A must visit place when in Puerto Galera for people who desire 5 star service on a budget."

Navigating to Monkey Beach: Boat vs. Kayak
For those seeking more independence and a closer connection to the water, renting a kayak is an excellent choice. It allows you to paddle at your own pace, stop at secluded coves, and truly immerse yourself in the stunning coastal scenery. Kayaking offers a more intimate experience and the chance to discover areas not typically visited by larger boats.
When choosing your transport, consider your budget, desired level of flexibility, and how much time you want to spend exploring. Both options offer unique perspectives and contribute to the overall memorable experience of visiting Monkey Beach.
Interacting with the Monkeys: Tips for a Safe Visit
The most important rule is never to feed the monkeys. Feeding them can lead to aggressive behavior, dependency on humans, and can disrupt their natural foraging habits. Keep all food items securely stored and out of sight. Similarly, avoid making direct eye contact, which can be perceived as a challenge.
Be mindful of your belongings. Monkeys are known to be curious and quick, and they might snatch sunglasses, hats, or even phones if left unattended. Keeping your valuables secure and close to you will prevent any unwanted interactions. By following these guidelines, you can ensure a safe and enjoyable experience observing these fascinating creatures in their natural environment.
