Wala na umanong natirang mga giant clam o taklobo sa Scarborough Shoal matapos hakutin lahat ng mga mangingisdang Chinese. Masaklap rito, iniwan lang palang nakatambak sa ilalim ng dagat ang mga shell nito. #News5 #FrontlinePilipinas #NewsPH #BreakingNewsPH

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Giant Clam Sanctuary for its unique biodiversity and the opportunity to see numerous giant clam species. The friendly and helpful local guides enhance the experience, making it accessible even for non-swimmers. While water clarity can be variable and camera rental quality is sometimes questioned, the overall consensus is that it's a worthwhile and beautiful conservation effort. Reddit

"Great experience with the clams, so much to see, and the locals/staff are very friendly! We used the nearby boat at the pier in the village just to the south east. Entry is 300p paid for at the stilts hut at the clams, it lasts just under 1h, there are snorkels and life jackets at the place. We used the option for go pro photos for 700p which was fantastic and well worth! Great too to support the locals who help look after this protected place."

"The fee for renting lifevest and snorkeling gear is Php200 each when we visited.

They have gopro (hero 9 or older version) for rent for Php750. The tour guide will be the one taking the shots (photos and videos). At the end of the tour, the memory card used will be surrendered to the guest. The shots are honestly not that good. A latest camera version is needed. (The photos included are some shots taken using their camera)

A detailed orientation and discussion will be given at the start of the tour. The tour guide during the snorkeling is very accommodating and helpful to the guests.

The water is not very clear, but it is still okay for viewing the clams, some spiecies of fish, some corals, and starfish. There's something biting our hands and legs during our dive at the clams area.

But overall, it is still a good experience."

"We paid ₱1,200 for our bangka service and another 120 pesos per person for the sanctuary entrance

IT WAS SO WORTH IT and incomparable!

I’ve never seen that much Giant Clams in my life, their diversity was what amazed me. There were about 5+ different Giant Clams species there.

Definitely recommend visiting here when you visit Samal Island, Davao"
