Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Divine Providence Church Biała for its stunning Baroque architecture and rich interior details, particularly the unique rococo pulpit. Many highlight its historical significance and the free admission, making it a highly recommended stop for those interested in art and history.
"The church represents the late baroque style with a clear 19th-century Austrian neo-baroque influence. The equipment of the temple comes from the second half of the 19th century. Eighteenth century. It’s most famous elements are the rococo pulpit in the shape of a boat of St. Peter, flowing under the sign of the cross, with Jonah in the mouth of a fish and a baptismal font with the scene of Jesus' baptism in the Jordan River and the figure of God the Father surrounded by angels. The wooden, neo-baroque main altar was built in the second half of the 19th century. There is a painting "Miraculous Multiplication of Bread". In 1708, the first mayor of Biała and the richest merchant at that time, trading in linen - Baltazar Damek - founded a chapel there, surrounded by a cemetery until 1790, under the invocation of Divine Providence, and the brotherhood of Divine Providence, which he chaired for a long time. It was built on the site of the cross that Damek had erected after he miraculously avoided death at the hands of a Swedish soldier. The entrance is free of charge!"
