Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise St. Mary's Basilica for its breathtaking beauty and historical significance, particularly highlighting the stunning Veit Stoss Altarpiece and the unique hourly trumpet call. While some find the paid entry a bit steep for the views from the tower, most agree the interior's grandeur is well worth the ticket price for a complete experience.

"Honestly, this place is way bigger and more detailed than I expected. Walking in, your eyes get pulled everywhere—the crazy intricate wood carvings on the altar, the colorful stained glass, the painted ceilings. It’s easy to get overwhelmed but in the best way. We didn’t spend hours, but just standing there felt like stepping back centuries. Definitely a must-see if you’re in Kraków, even if you’re not a big church person."

"Well, it's impressing but you're not getting that much of a difference in view by paying for the ticket. I recommend going through the free entrance and seeing if it's good enough for you before deciding to buy an actual ticket.

By the way, you can easily buy tickets in the building opposite the side entrance."

Diego Gorgazzi

"Absolutely the most stunning church I've been in, after St. Peter's basilica in Rome. The whole feeling, the smell, the atmosphere... It all gives out the feeling that you are in a truly blessed place (irrespective of your denomination or beliefs). The main aisle with the starry sky is one the most amazing I've seen and the whole structure is beautifully decorated! I certainly recommend to actually buy a ticket and explore the whole church, not just stand to the free entrance barrier and take photos - you are missing a lot if you do that. This place is and feels different, as well."
