"The building was constructed between 1784 and 1789 as a Greek Catholic parish church. After the arrival of an Orthodox priest in 1956, Orthodox services began. On September 6, 1983, the church was elevated to the rank of cathedral, and in 1996, to the rank of archcathedral.
The interior contains a complete 19th-century iconostasis, Baroque side altars from the first half of the 18th century, and a 17th-century Miraculous Icon of Our Lady of Sanok. The figurative and ornamental polychromes were created in the 19th and 20th centuries.
