What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Barranquinho Beach is praised for its secluded beauty and soft sand, offering a tranquil escape. However, visitors must be extremely cautious about car break-ins in the nearby parking areas. The beach can also have seaweed, making swimming challenging, and rocky conditions underfoot.
"BEWARE! If arriving by car, and have parked near by or at the small car park next to Estr. de Albandeira, DO NOT LEAVE ANY IMPORTANT BELONGINGS IN THE CAR!! THIS AREA IS NOTORIOUS FOR CAR BREAK INS.
My friends and I parked here and went for a walk, we were only gone for an hour and all our stuff was taken. (All of our belongings were in the boot, out of sight. And our car was parked back into a bush. But they still broken in through the small wing-mirror window on the driver's door to unlock it, and then climbed through the back to unlatch the back seats and take all our bags. We had already checked out of our airbnb, so we didn't have anywhere else to store our belongings.)
But the beach is nice, but not in a good condition for swimming, on the day we visited. Too much seaweed on the rocks for us to reach the water."

"Great little beach, quite isolated with no car park so we didn't see many people. It was the closest to our rented villa for the week."

"Got to this beach via a boat trip. The sand was very nice and soft. The sea was very rocky at this part but if you wear sea shoes it is fine."

Tailored advice for your travel style
🚗 Budget Travelers
Avoid expensive boat tours if your budget is extremely tight, but be aware that this might limit your access and ability to see nearby attractions like the Benagil Caves. The biggest 'cost' to be aware of is the risk of car break-ins, which can be financially devastating. Prioritize safety over convenience if driving.
📸 Photography Enthusiasts
To maximize your photographic opportunities, consider visiting during the quieter periods, perhaps via an early morning boat tour. This will allow you to capture the serene beauty without the crowds. Remember to also capture the journey to the beach, as the coastal views and the approach to the sea caves are often as stunning as the destination itself.
