What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Porto Planetarium offers an affordable glimpse into space, particularly appealing to children with its interactive displays and shows. However, visitors should be aware that amenities like the cafe and gift shop may be closed, and shows are primarily in Portuguese. Manage expectations regarding the venue's size and maintenance.
"Absolutely abysmal.
I was really looking forward to visiting the Planetarium during my trip to Porto, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The so-called gift shop was empty, dusty, and full of rubbish. The café was closed, the displays were poorly maintained, and the only show available at the time was aimed solely at children.
They urgently need to make it clear on their website and social media that there is no functioning gift shop or café. The whole place felt abandoned, dusty, and neglected — a very poor reflection of the great University of Porto."

"I really didn’t enjoy Porto Planetarium. The place is very small and felt quite boring, especially for kids. When we visited, it was also full of dust, which made it less appealing. The movie seems to be the main attraction, but since the kids weren’t interested, we didn’t pay for it and ended up entering for free.
Unfortunately, it didn’t offer much beyond that, and overall, it didn’t live up to expectations. I doubt we’ll return. There are definitely better things to do in Porto."

"Very dissapointing. Starting with zero English information on the website. Only when you come you learn the planets viewing is at 4pm… so anything you have seen on instagram is far from reality. Nothing to do when you are before screening time."
