What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the stunning natural beauty of Rabaçal Valley, particularly the 25 Fountains and Risco Waterfall, and the unique levada walks. However, many note that the experience can be significantly impacted by large crowds and chaotic parking, especially during peak times. Planning your visit for early morning or late afternoon is highly recommended to mitigate these issues.
"Great tour from lousia and Elton , very informative if a little tiring in the heat !"
Mat Jodrell
"This is a walk down from the parking to the pond with 25 fountains. It’s the equivalent of walking down 42 stories, or so google tells me. There is a mini bus that will take you down or back up over half that.
The walk through the forest is good, with view points and a lavada. The waterfalls are best in winter spring when they are full.
It is also popular.
I walked down then took the mini bus back up. 9 kms, and about 4 hours. Had lunch at the cafe where the minibus goes from."
Steve Devo
"Awesome place, nice hiking routes, definitely coming back to try one of the other ones. Unfortunately very overrun with tourists and pretty chaotic parking."
