"A very beautiful promenade in Prishtina. During the day, it's bustling with visitors, and along the promenade, you'll find many cafes, shops, book vendors, etc. It's a great place to take a stroll and soak in the atmosphere."

Mr. Robert

"Gjergj Kastrioti (1405-1468), better known by his Islamic name Skanderbeg, a corruption of Iskender Bey, was an Albanian prince who ended up as a hostage in Adrianople. There, Gjergj converted to Islam, received military training, and in 1438 became the commander of a cavalry unit of 5,000 men. In 1443, during a battle at Niš, he defected to the Hungarians with 300 other Albanians. He renounced Islam and in one month recaptured most of the fortresses, including that of Krujë, which his father had held when he died in 1442. In 1444, the Albanian princes elected him as their leader and he became the commander-in-chief of their army during the Albanian-Ottoman war. Because of the remarkable results he achieved here, 24 victories in 25 battles, he is considered by most Albanians as the national folk hero. The red family flag with the double-headed black eagle becomes the national flag of Albania in the 20th century."
