"We parked at Seven Seas and then hiked the path to Playa Escondida (see instructions others have posted before to navigate the trail). The path was not muddy when we went, but it definitely has the potential to be wet and slippery when it rains. It wasn't a bad hike, but it's not wheelchair accessible and not likely recommended for those with any type of balance/walking issues.
The hike through the mangroves was beautiful. Take your time and enjoy the hike. Look for the little violin crabs by the mangrove trees, the huge hermit crabs on the trees, and the local birds. The hike IS a feature of going to this beach.
We went on Christmas day when other tourists were also visiting, so there were other people there we shared the beach with. We snorkled in the protected rock area and saw all kinds of small, tropical fish. We also walked to the two points and got some amazing views of waves breaking on the coast!
Good day trip for couples and families! Pack some food and water for your afternoon and a trash bag to haul your trash back out. Take an extra trash bag if you can to pick up litter on the trail on your way out to keep this hike and beach beautiful!"
