Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Princely Palace for its historical significance and the captivating Changing of the Guard ceremony. The opulent State Apartments offer a glimpse into royal life, and the panoramic views from the balcony are a major draw. However, some find the interior tours a bit rushed and wish for more multilingual information, particularly for the exhibitions.

"The Palace of the Princes of Transylvania in Alba Iulia is a historical gem with its mix of gothic, renaissance, and baroque architecture, it served as the political heart of Transylvania for over 150 years and hosted key historical figures like Queen Isabella, her son Ioan Sigismund and Mihai Viteazul.
Recently restored and reopened to the public. A must-visit for anyone interested in culture, history, or heritage."

"Very interesting exposition, but would be great to have these videos in english also. At least QR code that visitors could scan and put audio on their phone. While reading translation I pass all animation, pictures. We needed to wait a little bit so guide will come"

Pamela Stepina

"Very disappointing visit to this museum! Arrived and was told it would be another 30 minutes till the English language tour. No problem, I went to the church during that time. The tour started well with an English speaking guide for the few rooms on the lower floor, and the excellent videos had English subtitles.

But on the second floor, no one spoke English and the English speaking guide just disappeared! I was left to wander through rooms where nothing is in English, no one couid speak English, and it felt as though the docents wanted you to move through quickly. Two of the videos were running Romanian subtitles, I’d like to have waited for the English subtitles (they run back to back), but the docent was hovering over us!

I was able to see some English subtitles upstairs, but as a historian myself, I was shocked at how you are rushed through the building, and very disappointed in how none of the well done info stations have English translations. This is obviously a work in progress, but not at all tourist friendly if you don’t speak Romanian. A waste of money for me."
