Its unique history, including being moved to avoid demolition, adds to its charm. Some note it can feel overlooked and may seem unwelcoming initially, but it's a worthwhile gem for a brief, peaceful visit.

"One of the most beautiful monasteries in Bucharest. Brancoveanu style church, with beautiful stone carvings, an impressively detailed carved entrance door and interior frescoes. Beautiful chapel, well-kept courtyard and wonderful tranquility. What's unique is that during communism it was moved about 20 m further back, on metal rails, to make room for Ceaușescu's apartment blocks. That's how it escaped of demolition."

"Historic miniature monastery not far from the People‘s Palace, but well hidden by panel buildings from the late communist era. Quite a gem."
