Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Cezar Petrescu Memorial Museum to be a charming glimpse into the past, preserving the writer's personal belongings and traditional home. While the house and garden are appreciated for their historical authenticity, some reviewers note that the presentation is minimal and staff explanations are limited. The early closing times can also be a point of frustration for those arriving late.

"The house is very nice but poorly presented. All rooms had a chain at the door from where i could look inside. The lady that lets visitors inside was rather rude and after 10 minutes tour kicked me out in the pouring rain as she had to close at 16h30. She was also unable to give any explanations, just pointing to study room, library, salons for receiving guests etc. Pity!
They better hire someone competent who can bring value to visitors and cherish the writer's memory."

"This is a typical romanian house from last centruy. It was the house where Romanian writer Cezar Petrescu spent his last 24 years of his life. The house preserves all original personal things and furniture. His most famous book is "Fram, ursul polar" (Fram, the polar bear).a book for kids and not only. The visit takes a maximum of 20 minutes including the garden. The only negative thing I noticed was the lady that takes care of the museum. Although the daily schedule is between 9 -17, she was not there when we arrived in the morning at around 9.40. We came in the afternoon and we were lucky to visit. She refused others who came at around 16.25 saying that museum is closing. But the most annoying thing is that she did not tell almost anything about the witer, house or his books."

"It's an interesting piece of romanian literature history. Even if you're not aware of who Cezar Petrescu is, the experience is worth it for looking into the past. The house architecture is nice and the interior is well preserved with a lot of original stuff."
