What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Copou Park is cherished for its historical significance, particularly its connection to poet Mihai Eminescu and its ancient Linden tree. Visitors appreciate the serene atmosphere, green spaces, and literary monuments, making it a peaceful retreat. However, some reviews note that certain areas could benefit from better maintenance and cleanliness.
"We visited the park on a day an Arts & Crafts fair was going on and what a treat! The grounds are green and luscious and the flower beds colorful. Parking is around the exterior of the park and paid toilets are available. There are a few food and snacks vendors scattered through the park. We loved it specially on a hot day when escaping the heat under the shade of the trees is a necessity."

"Copou Park, one of the oldest public gardens in Romania, offers a distinctive blend of history, culture, and natural calm. Its large size and long tree-lined avenues create a feeling often compared to a “natural cathedral”: tall, mature trees arch overhead and filter the light in a way that brings instant peace and quiet to anyone walking through the park.
The landscaping is well cared for, with seasonal floral beds adding color and contrast to the deep shade provided by centuries-old vegetation. The park also includes practical modern amenities, such as a clean and convenient public washroom and a pleasant bookshop that fits naturally into the cultural atmosphere of the area.
Visitors will notice the strong cultural presence throughout the park. Statues dedicated to remarkable Moldavian personalities mark the alleys, including iconic Romanian figures such as national poet Mihai Eminescu and the beloved storyteller Ion Creangă. Near their and other statues, the white benches shaped like open books—decorated with excerpts from their works—invite visitors to pause, read, and reflect.
Wide walkways, many benches, generous green spaces, and the mix of history and nature make Copou Park an ideal place for relaxing walks, quiet reading, or a gentle cultural immersion in one of Iași’s most symbolic public spaces."

"Copou Park is one of the most delightful spots in Iași, with its wide green spaces, well-maintained landscaping, and spacious walking paths. It features the Lions’ Obelisk, the nearly 500 years old linden tree that inspired Mihai Eminescu’s poetry, a museum dedicated to the poet, and busts of famous writers and poets. It is an ideal place for those who want to spend time in nature and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere for walking."
