"Water wide wise"

"We crossed the "paths" of the lake and the surrounding area on a one-day trip, the soul of the trip being the boatman/guide, Mr. Samuel, an authentic blond Lipovean with blue eyes, very friendly and who, at our request to see the "wild, real" Delta, put his mind to it, taking us with great courage on little-traveled water paths. He enjoyed our joy and amazement and told us with great pleasure about the wonders we were seeing. In the area of Lake Fortuna we saw indescribable landscapes, fishermen and fish, birds of all kinds, but also something from the traditions of the Delta. Lake Fortuna is one of the most important tourist attractions of the Danube Delta. With an area of about 9 square kilometers and only 0.6-1.5 m deep, it is famous for the variety of birds and fish it shelters, as well as for its special beauties. In the lake area, some of the Delta's birds (pelicans, swans, gypsies, cormorants, etc.), fishermen, Delta people, traditionally fishing with nets, carpets of floating aquatic plants, but also culinary specialties (thorns) picked directly from the lake's surface can be seen."
