What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Weapon Museum to be an affordable and quick stop for those interested in historical arms and armor. While some appreciate the variety of weapons spanning different centuries, others felt the collection lacked a strong focus on Vlad the Impaler and could be better presented. The primary drawback is the strict cash-only policy, which can be inconvenient due to high ATM fees and sometimes rude staff.
"We visited this place only, without buying tickets to the other two recommended museums. Even though there are some interesting weapons inside, which we enjoyed, we also thought that there weren’t enough reflecting the Vlad Dracul era. Lots of the weapons exposed are from diferent centuries, and some are not related to the Țepeș army at all. I have this place only three stars because of this. To us, it felt like the fire weapons were only there to fill the space. I hope that we did not miss the point with these! For those interested in Vlad Țepeș history, may e this is not the place to start. If you like seeing weapons from diferent centuries, I do recommend this place."

"Unfortunately, we weren’t able to enter the museum as they did not accept card payments. When we tried to withdraw cash from a nearby ATM, we realized the fee was over €5, while the entrance fee for two people was only 20 RON (about €4). We found it unreasonable to pay more than double the ticket price just to get cash, especially considering that card payments should be accepted in most places nowadays.
Additionally, the man at the ticket counter was quite rude and hostile when we politely asked if it was possible to pay in euros (in cash).
It’s a shame, because we were really looking forward to visiting the museum."
