What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
St. Onuphrius Church is a beautiful and spiritually uplifting place located centrally in Anapa. Visitors appreciate the serene atmosphere, the well-maintained grounds with pine trees, and the helpfulness of the priests. However, some find the strict dress code and the handling of candles and ceremonies to be less than ideal.
"A beautiful temple, in the very center of the city, practically on the central embankment, surrounded by pine trees. On the territory there are benches, a church shop where you can leave notes, buy candles, icons, literature, crosses, etc. and a couple more buildings. Every year, something is completed, rebuilt, repaired there... In any case, for many years, after the season, for some reason the central entrance is always repaired in the temple 🤷 otherwise, everything is like in most temples! candles are removed from the candelabrum, not allowing them to burn out even halfway, most of the employees do not have particularly friendly faces, the sacraments of baptism and weddings are not at all secret 😀 strangers from the street can always enter, walk around the temple, and take pictures at the moment when the ceremony is taking place, very personal for the families undergoing the sacrament, and who paid a lot of money. And the place is very beautiful, cozy. after visiting Temple, you can sit on a bench under the pine trees and enjoy the ringing of bells, clean air, and sea breeze."

"The Cathedral of St. Onuphrius, patron saint of Anapa. Alas, very few people know of this remarkable saint. In particular, his name is associated with a unique place in Israel, where the journey of the 33 pieces of silver received by Judas for betraying Christ ended. I'm deliberately not going into detail so that those who read these lines can turn to the internet, search, and familiarize themselves with the life of St. Onuphrius. This way, they will learn more important information. May God help them.
The grounds and the church, a place where the soul opens to communion with God. I've never seen so many parables. Moreover, each person, in uniform, is at their place, meticulously fulfilling their duties, without any fuss. You sense the coordinated work of a large team, and above all this, the smiling, engaging, warm-hearted priests, ready to immediately provide appropriate assistance with questions about why we come to church. My visit to this holy place left a profound impression on me."

"It's nice here. People are kind. The service is not long. Everything is in one breath. It's different from the Yekaterinburg diocese"
