"Great"
John Kabengele
"IMHO, when there was the "Big Three" - ALTI (AGTU), AGPI (PSU), AGMI (SSMU), they provided fundamental knowledge, there was high quality of education, specialization, competition between teachers, students and, as a result, graduates were in demand. Including abroad. I currently see the organization of education and the volume of knowledge provided at NArFU in my children. It's sad. P.S. Thanks to the former rector of AGMI (AGMA, SSMU) P.I. Sidorov, who was able to defend the accession of "Med" to this agglomerate at the time."

"They have recruited a driving group, but they themselves do not really organize anything. If you fail the driving test at the State Automobile Inspectorate for the first time, you can take it in a few years and at another school. Since they put those who fail last, and it does not reach them. It is possible somehow through a person. . I do not recommend it! Money down the drain, + transfer to another school. Is it possible to get 13% back through the tax office, it is doubtful (here they themselves return through some kind of financial assistance)"

A Legacy of Merged Institutions
Alumni often reflect on the distinct educational cultures of these former institutes. Some express nostalgia for the perceived higher quality of education and specialization offered by the 'Big Three' before the merger, noting that graduates were once highly sought after, even internationally. This sentiment suggests a perceived shift in academic rigor or focus post-consolidation, a common concern in large university integrations.
Despite these reflections, the university continues to be a vital center for education and research in Northern Russia. The integration has allowed for broader interdisciplinary studies and a wider range of programs catering to the evolving demands of the Arctic economy and society. Understanding this historical context provides a richer appreciation for the university's current structure and its role in the region.
