Reviews Summary
The Loo Temple is a historically significant Byzantine ruin offering a peaceful atmosphere and stunning panoramic views of the Loo coastline. While the site is in a dilapidated state, visitors appreciate its ancient charm, the spiritual feeling it evokes, and the rewarding hike to reach it. Some find the lack of maintenance disappointing, but the free access and unique historical context make it a worthwhile visit for many.
"Loo is a cozy resort area of Sochi where the sea meets the mountains. It offers long beaches, clear waters, and a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for family holidays. In the evening you can stroll along the promenade with its cafes and markets, while during the day you can head to the mountains or go on excursions. Loo combines the vibrant resort vibe of Sochi with the charm of a small seaside town."

"I love this place very much, we’ve been living here for a year and a half, we go almost every month, I’ll add photos from different seasons. A very bright and beautiful place, there is always a good feeling, peace and quiet. You can get there by car through the village, then walk 5 minutes through the forest, but sometimes hikers come up along the paths from somewhere below, we didn’t go that way. Very few people come here, which is for the best. Admission is free, open 24 hours a day, there are no fences, you just need to walk past some object behind barbed wire and you are there... Oak trees and persimmons grow around"

"We went to the temple in July, we really liked it. Only at first we got a little lost in the streets, but the locals themselves asked - are you going to the temple? And they showed us the path (at that time it was covered with trees, and there were no signs there). We walked up through the forest, and back along the other side along the road. The day was very hot, and it turned out to be much nicer to walk through the forest, at least there is shade there. But on the side of the road there is a small shop where you can buy candles and souvenirs. The temple itself is in a very dilapidated state, it is a pity that such antiquity is not maintained and not restored. But there really is some kind of place of power there, after it the soul is pleasant and calm. If I ever find myself in Loo again, I will definitely go up to the temple again."
