What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Holy Trinity Monastery as a blessed, peaceful, and historically significant site. Its well-kept grounds and spiritual atmosphere are frequently highlighted, with many recommending attendance at services for a profound experience. However, some have encountered issues with strict dress code enforcement and security interactions.
"The entrance is from the Moskovskaya Embankment, where the monument to Saint Gury of Kazan, the first Archbishop of Kazan, is located. The Trinity Monastery was founded by order of Tsar Ivan Vasilyevich the Terrible in 1566. In 1609, the monastery was burned and destroyed, and the abbot was thrown from the bell tower. By 1763, four stone churches had been built. In 1767, Empress Catherine II visited the Holy Trinity Monastery. Under Soviet rule, the monastery's property was expropriated, and the monastery was closed in October 1924. In May, restoration of the monastery began. Now the monastery is active and well-kept. You must come for the service. The church shop and dresses are next to the temple, a security guard monitors compliance with the rules. At the entrance to the temple, on the left is a chapel in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker."

"An unusual monastery complex, well-kept territory. I wanted to go inside the temple, but a man from the security guards crossed my path with a cry: "You can't". He demanded that I put a skirt on my coat, which is longer than many skirts. It was unpleasant when an indistinct man tracked me by my primary sexual characteristics for 7 minutes on the territory of the monastery (that's how long it took me to decide to enter). My mood was spoiled and hasn't let up for the third day."

"An excellent monastery with a good abbot, God loves this place, it is pleasant to be here at any time."
