Step inside and every vault, column, and dome shimmers with 23-carat gold leaf, hand-carved wood, and intricate poly...

Welcome to the first National library in the world to operate 24/7. This library is located in the Historic Center in San Salvador, capital of El Salvador and is a must-visit. 🇸🇻 I visited this library around 11pm and was impressed by the amount of people inside the premises and in the surrounding areas. The library is a seven floors building and was opened in 2023. It’s also one of the most...

What are your thoughts on Oryol?

I was born there and still visit occasionally. What can I say, the town is quite nice, almost feels European. But as others have said, the region is very poor, apparently not much is going on economically despite high potential for agriculture because of southern location and…

Reviews Summary

Reviews for historic centers are generally positive, highlighting their beauty, rich history, and cultural significance. Visitors often praise the architecture and the opportunity to immerse themselves in local life. However, some mention that certain areas can feel provincial or lack modern amenities, and occasional negative experiences with local staff have been reported. Reddit

"Ok"

"It wasn't my first time visiting the city, but the impressions were about the same. It's a poor, provincial town, without modern sports facilities. The only center is Grinn, it copes well with the needs of the townspeople for cultural events. There is no sport at all, no professional sports teams, and this says a lot. I would also like to express my opinion about the central football stadium named after Lenin, a building from the 80s. It so happened that I decided to visit it with my children to watch some track and field competitions. The stadium guard didn't let me in, although everyone else who wanted to watch passed by without hindrance. He said that children were not allowed in. I explained to him that we and the children would watch from the stands and wouldn't interfere in any way. He "turned on" such a bull...that there are simply no words. In general, it all ended with him stupidly threatening, although there was such an old man there that you could just walk by and not notice him if you wanted, but I didn't mess with him, we just left, and the victorious old man was beaming with happiness. The authorities, honestly, are just an old idiot. They seem completely insane. Even the younger employees backed him up. When I asked what the ban was, they didn't explain anything clearly, just said, "No." So, keep in mind, I think this is an isolated incident, but in the remote provinces of the Central Earth Region, there are such people.
I completely forgot about the steam locomotive; the kids really loved it, being in Grinno. The Oryol (Eagle) from the branches, which is in all the photos, is also near Grinno.
Two days would be plenty to see all the city's sights. Nothing of interest, culturally or historically, just a provincial location close to Moscow."
