"The Lermontov Gallery is a historic glass and metal building located in Tsvetnik Park in Pyatigorsk. It was built in 1901 and named after the Russian poet Mikhail Lermontov, whose life and work are closely associated with the region. The gallery was created as a place for recreation, cultural events, and protection from the weather for holidaymakers. Its design was developed by architects Ivan Baikov and Stefan Schiller. The building is 80 metres long and 12 metres wide, in an eclectic style with elements of Gothic and Art Nouveau. It has an orchestra stage in the centre and promenade and theatre wings on the sides. The gallery is decorated with forged details and stained glass windows, which have been replaced several times due to damage, such as after the hail of 1936 and during World War II. During the Soviet era, it housed a theater and a cinema, and now it belongs to the North Caucasian Philharmonic and is used for concerts, exhibitions and other events. The gallery is considered one of the symbols of Pyatigorsk and an object of cultural heritage of Russia. When we were there, there was a fair of goods dedicated to friendship with India."
