"Enjoyed it. Great exhibition. There is something to see. Especially the artisans exhibition, folk costume, lace, history museum, icicles, pathology department. Thanks to the people who care about our heritage. The temples are magnificent. Plan 2 days"

"...The Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery is located within the Ryazan Kremlin, northeast of the Kremlin rampart and south of the Assumption Cathedral. The monastery is surrounded by a fence on three sides, and the Consistorial Building adjoins it on the fourth side. Two towers are built at the corners of the fence. At one time, before its destruction during the Soviet period, there was a garden and a necropolis on the monastery grounds, where not only the monastery's inhabitants were buried, but also benefactors and noble Ryazan residents. In 1920, the monastery was closed and given over to barracks for highly contagious patients. After the cholera hospital, the city executive committee was located in the monastery buildings, and then military units were quartered there. Since 1935, the monastery territory with all the buildings was transferred to the Ryazan District Museum, but for a long time these buildings housed not only institutions, but also people, even in the Epiphany Church.
The revival of the monastery and the transfer of the monastery buildings began in 1996..."
