"A wonderful monument. Thank you for remembering a great man!!!!"

Наталия Фролова

"The monument was unveiled on April 17, 2002, as part of the celebrations of Stolypin's 140th anniversary, which were attended by prominent Russian government officials and Pyotr Arkadyevich's great-grandson, who had come from France. The author of the monument is the president of the International Foundation for Slavic Literature and Culture, V. M. Klykov. The idea for the composition was borrowed from the Saratov monument to Emperor Alexander II that existed at the beginning of the 20th century: on the four sides of the central 3.5-meter figure of Stolypin there are sculptures of a peasant, an Orthodox priest, a blacksmith, and a warrior, symbolizing the policies and reforms of the prime minister. The words from Stolypin's famous slogan are inscribed on the pedestal: "We need a great Russia.""
