What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Tobolsk Kremlin as an exceptional and beautiful historical site, often described as a 'fairytale' entrance to Siberia. The museums are found to be fascinating, offering deep insights into Siberian history, and the views from the ramparts are breathtaking. Many recommend hiring a guide to fully appreciate the site's significance.
"An exceptional place to visit, full of hidden and unexpected beauties. Tobolsk was the capital of Siberia before the construction of the railway which Tyumen merchants paid for to pass through Tyumen and not Tobolsk. Or maybe for simple geographical reasons, the railway went by. The museums of the Kremlin are fascinating and I would definitely recommend to take a tour guide to give real life to your visit, as we did. The history of Siberia and its people can be clearly understood from the lovely collections in the museums, prison, monastery, churches, and the view from the hill is truly breathtaking. A 10 min drive takes you also to the House of Romanov's - a very touching place to see as well."

"It's nice place to spend some good time watching historic Kremlin. Also the view of the other side of the city and Irthis river from the border of this Kremlin is amazing.
During winter and Christmas, you will also have opportunity to see ice made sculptures and ride on 🎅 vehicle driven by 🏇 inside Kremlin. Make sure you visit this place when in Tobolsk :-)"
