What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the Plastov Art Museum for its focused collection of works by Arkady and Nikolai Plastov, with special praise for engaging guided tours. However, some find the museum small and note that information from staff can be limited, with separate ticketing for different floors sometimes causing confusion.
"The museum is located on the first floor. When purchasing an entrance ticket, I recommend paying for photography upfront. This is not offered at the box office. The cloakroom is unmarked; shoe covers are provided for shoes. The first room is dedicated to images by Nikolai Plastov, the son of Arkady Plastov. Arkady Plastov's paintings are few in number (the main ones are scattered throughout museums of the former Soviet Union). During our visit (February 15, 2020), a temporary exhibition of Nikolai Plastov's works was on display in a small room. The last room is dedicated to photographs and illustrations for children's books by Nikolai Plastov. The museum is small, with only a few rooms. We completed it in 30 minutes."

"07/27/2024 with a group of tourists from Ulyanovsk visited the A.A. Plastov Museum. On behalf of our group, I would like to express my deep gratitude to Antonina Nikolaevna for the excursion service!!! Antonina Nikolaevna greeted us like family, told us so many new and interesting things! Everything turned out very warmly and sincerely! Low bow to you. Our museums are based on such simple people, devoted to their work!!! I would like to wish health, peace, goodness to Antonina Nikolaevna and her entire team, and prosperity to the museum!"

"I haven't been to the Plastov Museum for a long time. During this time, the exhibition has expanded significantly, his large works amazed me with their color. Few people can paint children and animals like that. The artist's skill, his search, his sketches, and his sketches indicate that talented works are the result of enormous effort, and not just momentary inspiration. Also, the temporary exhibition of cosmonaut Leonov, especially his incredible landscapes, opens up a special genre - space painting. I wanted to try on a spacesuit, which is also presented at the exhibition. Overall, I was very impressed. I recommend visiting."
