What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally praise River Wonders for its unique riverine theme and the charm of its animal exhibits, particularly the pandas. The Amazon River Quest boat ride is a popular highlight. However, some find the park smaller than expected and suggest it can be crowded during peak times.
"Me and my wife visited River Wonders on a rainy Sunday. Thankfully, most of the exhibits are sheltered, so the wet weather didn’t spoil our visit and we could still enjoy seeing the animals—especially the giant pandas! The park is very clean, well-organized, and perfect for families with kids. However, the Amazon River Quest boat ride was suspended for a long time due to rain and thunder, which was disappointing since it's one of the main attractions.
About the shows: the “Once Upon a River” presentation wasn’t as impressive as we hoped. The venue was small with limited seating and the arrangements weren’t very comfortable. On our visit, the park was really crowded. You have to book your show slot online, and it opens just 2 hours before the show—slots fill up in minutes! We were lucky to get a spot, but the area definitely needs to be bigger and better organized to handle the crowds.
Despite a few downsides, we had an enjoyable and educational day. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fun family outing—just plan ahead for the shows and expect a big crowd on weekends!"

"River Wonders is a fantastic attraction for both kids and adults! It offers a unique mix of fun, education, and wildlife encounters that you don’t often find in one place.
I was amazed to see fish species I had never seen before, such as the Elephant Fish from Africa. The aquarium sections are beautifully designed and really allow you to get up close with creatures from all around the world’s rivers. Of course, one of the highlights is seeing the giant pandas munching on bamboo—definitely a must-see moment for visitors.
We also attended the “Once Upon a River” show, which featured a capybara, pelican, and other animals. The show is family-friendly, short but entertaining, and gives you an opportunity to learn about different river animals. Just make sure to reserve your slot at least 2 hours in advance (it’s free), as spaces fill up quickly.
Another highlight was the Amazon River Quest ride, which is probably the most exciting activity here. It’s a gentle boat ride through different themed habitats, where you can spot animals such as jaguars, anteaters, and giant otters. Both kids and adults will love it! Be prepared, though—you may need to queue for 30–40 minutes, especially during peak hours, but it’s worth the wait.
Overall, River Wonders is a great half-day or full-day excursion. It’s easy to reach by both taxi and public transport, and the park is stroller-friendly, making it convenient for families with young children. There are also plenty of shaded areas and places to rest, which is important in Singapore’s tropical climate.
Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys nature, animals, or just wants a fun and memorable outing in Singapore!"

"One of the coolest place to see the pandas and fish. Nice and clean area with good facilities to stroll with young kids. Also the animal presentation are nice and exciting experience for families. Giant fish tanks are wonderful and fish and animals are from both freshwater and sea water"

This shuttle service is a convenient way to connect from the MRT to the various parks. Alternatively, buses also serve the area. For those driving, parking is available at the reserve.

The River Wonders Experience: Animals and Attractions
Beyond the pandas and the Amazon, explore the Congo River with its fascinating African wildlife, and the Mekong River exhibit. The park boasts a diverse collection of freshwater animals, including manatees, electric eels, and various species of fish and reptiles. Many visitors find that River Wonders, while smaller than the main zoo, offers a concentrated and engaging experience, especially for those interested in aquatic life.
While some reviews suggest River Wonders has 'very little animals' compared to the zoo, others highlight its unique focus and the charm of its riverine theme. It's a great complement to the Singapore Zoo, offering a different kind of wildlife encounter.
Tips for a Smooth Visit
Booking tickets online is a smart move to bypass potential queues and sometimes secure better prices. For the Amazon River Quest, be aware that it's an additional cost and can get busy, so plan accordingly. If you're visiting with children, River Wonders is generally considered very family-friendly, offering engaging exhibits and the excitement of boat rides.
Remember that River Wonders is part of a larger wildlife complex. While it's possible to combine it with the Singapore Zoo in a single day, many visitors find it tiring and recommend dedicating sufficient time to truly enjoy the experience.
