What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Peričnik Waterfall is a highly recommended natural wonder in Slovenia, praised for its unique beauty and accessibility. Visitors love the option to walk behind the lower falls and the scenic trails leading to different viewpoints. Some find the parking limited and the paths behind the waterfall slippery, but overall, it's considered a must-visit.
"1 | A beautiful waterfall within easy driving distance from Lake Bled. It is definitely worth a visit.
2 | You can view the waterfall from three different spots and I recommend checking them all out. The easiest access is from the road where you just step out of your car. You can also walk down stairs and a forest path that leads right to the waterfall, and there is even a rocky trail that lets you go behind it. If you keep going uphill, you'll reach the upper waterfall.
3 | The rocky path can be a bit challenging if you're not used to regular physical activity. Think of it like climbing eight flights of stairs.
4 | Visiting the waterfalls is free, but starting in 2025, there is a fee to drive on the access road. There is a gate partway up and from there it's about a three-minute drive. The first hour is free, then it costs around 3 euros. There are only a few parking spots directly near the waterfalls.
5 | Our entire visit to the waterfalls, measured from gate to gate, took 58 minutes. We hiked the hill quickly but spent a lot of time taking photos and enjoying the views.
6 | We visited the waterfalls on a Tuesday in July at 8:30 in the morning. There were just two other cars and a group of eight people there with us."

"Amazing and beautiful waterfall - must visit in slovenia!
This beautiful waterfall is easy to reach while walking through a majestic nationalpark. You can visit the first viewpoint with an easy hike and take another little hike to get really close and walk behind the waterfall.
The hike has natural stairs and mostly handrails."

"We visited this place on our way to Croatia. It’s a beautiful spot, even though the weather was cloudy when we were there. We parked the car at the top, but on the left side, where parking would have been convenient, there was a tape blocking it off, so it wasn’t allowed. Everyone was parking along the road instead.
When we were leaving, we ended up blocking a bus — who would’ve thought buses drive up there? There would’ve been enough space for a normal car, but we simply didn’t know where else to park. As soon as we pulled away, another car took our spot. We warned them, but they also didn’t know where else to park.
If you have time, it’s probably better to park somewhere at the bottom and walk up. The place itself is beautiful. At the top, there was a sign saying access to the waterfall was prohibited, but as you can see from the photos, we climbed over the barrier to get a closer look. Of course, we didn’t go behind the waterfall — it was wet, slippery, and, as I said, not allowed"
