Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the Clan Stuart shipwreck's beautiful and tranquil location, offering a unique historical perspective on Noordhoek Beach. The scenic walk and the intact boiler are highlights, though access can be challenging due to sand and streams. Some caution is advised regarding the rusty metal and personal safety.

"The location is amazingly beautiful and tranquil with barely any activity present other than a random beach goer. The site is located behind Klien Slangkop which is inaccessible due to it being private property resulting in your needing to walk around through the Kommetjie beach entrance which is about a 500m walk to the site which is difficult through the sand and a small stream to across however its well worth it. An amazing historical site to visit and highly recommended."

"Great walk along crystal blue waves to the Kakapo shipwreck. Still a lot to see of the 1900 wreck. Did a little research on the history of the shipwreck before the little adventure. Dogs had a great walk off leads and just enjoyed the waves."

Dee Vaz

"The shipwreck was awesome. There isn't a to left, but it is awesome to see the outline and the little pieces that are remaining. The walk was beautiful and easy"
