Reviews Summary

Shimuwini Bushveld Camp is highly praised for its stunning river views and tranquil bushveld atmosphere, making it a favorite for those seeking peace and wildlife encounters. Guests love the close proximity to animals, especially elephants at the fence, and the comfortable, well-equipped accommodation. The lack of shops and restaurants is seen as a positive for maintaining serenity, though it requires visitors to be well-prepared.

"Absolutely stunning bushveld camp near to Phalaborwa gate. The rooms are being refurbished slowly to look more contemporary, and the new pool is lovely with lots of shade to sit. The views of the river are the winner, with a small hide on site as well. Perfect for true bush lovers looking for tranquility. No shop or restaurant here, which keeps things peaceful."

Chantelle B

"A lovely and peaceful bush camp, with great views of the watering hole. The rooms are spacious and clean. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. Probably my favourite camp in Kruger."

Simon Blincow

"Wonderful camp, with all types of birds in the river and the trees around the camp. A lovely hide over the river. ( there may be another one) At night we saw a couple of beautiful Spring Hare, they disappear into holes in the lawn. When you get to the spot there are never any open holes. Beds were very comfortable as usual. Kitchen has everything needed. Lovely open covered verandah. Delightful pool to cool down in in the heat of the day and evenings."
