Visitors consistently praise Babylonstoren for its breathtaking gardens, exceptional service, and immersive farm experience. The attention to detail in every aspect, from the food to the spa, leaves a lasting impression. While some find the wine tasting average, the overall consensus is overwhelmingly positive, with many recommending multiple visits to fully appreciate its offerings.
"Everything about this place is perfection. From the moment you drive through the gates and are met by the person directing you to the entrance, right up to the moment you leave, you are greeted by inspiring positive individuals. Unfortunately we will need more than a day to fully explore this beautiful farm with everything it has to offer. The herb, fruit and vegetable gardens are a beautiful inspirational space. The people working the gardens are magnificent to see. They are chirpy, positive and knowledgeable. Everyone just wants to help to make you experience unforgettable and pleasant. The butchery, the cheese shop, the perfumery, the bakery and the coffee roastery is magnificent."

"Absolutely five stars for this stunning and authentic wine estate in South Africa! From the moment you arrive, you're surrounded by breathtaking views, lush vineyards, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes you feel like you've stepped into a postcard.
The wine tasting experience is truly exceptional — each wine tells a story, with rich colors and layers of flavor that unfold beautifully on the palate. From bold reds to crisp whites, everything is perfectly balanced and crafted with care. The guides are knowledgeable, passionate, and incredibly friendly, offering detailed explanations about each vintage, the estate’s history, and the winemaking process.
It’s not just a tasting — it’s a journey through South African terroir and tradition. Whether you're a wine enthusiast or a curious traveler, this estate offers an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in world-class wines and warm South African hospitality."

"We went to Babylonstoren on the Wednesday for a visit and decided to come back on the Friday for the Soetmelksvlei working farm experience. We are so glad we split our visit in 2 parts as spending time at Babylonstoren Wine Estate takes time when you want to take it all in. From the gardens to the restaurant and the shops and sampling their amazing olive oil collection with delicious fresh bread! The farm animals are a treat, tasting water buffalo cheese and milk (had a gorgeous buffacino) so creamy and then having an ice cold rooibos gelato also made from the water buffalo milk was rich and delicious! Ooooo, don’t forget to buy their home made piccolo limoncello!!! Mmmmm….
Now Soetmelksvlei is booked separately at the main ticket office and it’s a 25 min scenic drive in the Land Cruiser through stunning terrain from seeing the water buffalo, driving past the citrus trees and admiring the black wattle trees before reaching Soetmelksvlei farm which is stuck in 1897 and is still a working farm as it was back then. The whole experience was extraordinary and we were greeted by Crystal who gave a quick introduction of the farm and short informative video. Then off exploring, we started with a delicious breakfast of either oats or mielie pap (grits) made on the open fire with real moerkoffie on the side. 2 farm dogs Pippa and Tessa running around chasing sticks with Adele sporting their Go Bokke handkerchiefs! Sampling some handmade products and meeting the cows, rooster and horses. Timeco made us some delicious roosterkoek offering a variety of toppings and we met the iron mongers Dan and Jayden who also made us each our own nail from scratch. We wanted to stay for the lunch but unfortunately we had other plans. But leaving that for another visit. All in all Soetmelksvlei is a MUST so please plan for this as you will not be disappointed. See their website so you can choose the interactive activities you are interested in on the different days and above all enjoy!"
