This building was built to commemorate Clement C. Owen (1867–1909). Built in 1914 with funds donated by missionary relatives, Owen reportedly wished to honor his grandfather, William. Consequently, both his grandfather and Owen's names are engraved on the facade. It is located within the Christian College of Nursing and is managed by the Gwangju Christian Hospital Education Foundation. The exterior walls are made of gray brick, creating a calm and cool atmosphere. I hope people will use it to create a warm and inviting building.

Born in Virginia, USA, he died in Yanglim-dong, Gwangju. He was the first missionary to be buried in the missionary cemetery, along with Eugene Bell, and the first missionary to be buried in Jeollanam-do. A friend who was visiting Owen, who was in critical condition, discovered a leper en route, placed the child on horseback, and walked back, arriving after Owen's death. Witnessing the leper's treatment, Choi Hong-jong donated 1,000 pyeong (approximately 3,300 sq ft) of his land in Bongseon-dong, Gwangju, leading to the establishment of today's Aeyangwon (a leprosy treatment hospital in Yeosu)."
