ROBERT W STRANG
"The church of the convent of San Francisco is very simple, as the Franciscans were. Located in the heart of the town, near the town hall and the beach.
In 1728, Franciscan friars from Benissa settled in the old hermitage of San Pedro, near Bol beach. There, they built the convent and hospice throughout the 18th century with contributions from the friars and some families. On top of the original hermitage, they also built the church, the cloister, the refectory, the kitchens, the cells, the Prior's quarters, the orchard, the cemetery, the hospice, the hospital, and teaching spaces.
Nothing remains of the convent."
