What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Raixa Estate for its beautiful, tranquil Mediterranean gardens and free entry. The scenic olive grove approach and the peaceful reservoir are highlights. While some note a lack of vibrant color in the gardens and no on-site cafe, the historical exhibits and natural beauty make it a highly recommended, serene escape.
"Beautiful public Finca with Mediterranean garden, olive grove, orange trees and a very nice hiking path to Valldemossa. Inside the Finca is an exhibition about the Serra de Tramuntana."
Sebastian Meyer
"Well worth a visit. The house has a number of interesting audio visual presentations about the area and Mallorca in general. The gardens are well kept but, perhaps, lacking in colour. Lovely shades of green. Having said that the first pond had some pretty water lillies and numerous frogs. The large pond has some quite big fish. There is a walk up the hillside to a lookout point that we didn't do do on this occasion. There is no cafe, which would be a nice addition, but there are toilets. Ample parking, but getting there by public transport is a trek up a dusty track. The house and grounds has been used in many films, including the Agatha Christie Evil Under the Sun with Peter Ustinov. Entrance is free. It is somewhere we visit at least once a year to make a video."
Stephen Baggaley
"Former Mallorcan country estate, which is free to visit and free to park. House and gardens were obviously left to fall into some state of dilapidation and are being gradually renovated. The inside of the house consists of audio visual displays with multilingual audio guide. .. nothing historic is left of the inside.. apart from the old olive press. Outside the gardens are pretty. Recommend taking a picnic.. there is no cafe on site. In all, a very interesting visit."
