Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Casa del Obispo a fascinating site with many layers of history, from Phoenician to Roman times. While modern facilities and panels enhance the experience, some reviewers note issues with litter and neglect in certain areas, contrasting with the site's historical importance.

"So many layers of history here. Really interesting."

Michael Romero

"The Bishop's House is a spectacular archaeological site that can be visited in the city of Cádiz. Through modern facilities and detailed explanatory panels, the site reflects the successive occupation of the island since Phoenician times.
The building stands on the site of the former bishop's house, reusing remains of large Roman public buildings, which in turn are superimposed on Phoenician-Punic ones. This has allowed us to document a chrono-stratigraphic sequence preserved from the 8th century BC to the present day, thus revealing the evolution of this space and, at the same time, of the city where it is located."

Jose Luis Garcia Tenorio

"Unfortunately, it was closed. The remains of the wall could only be seen from the outside."
